Cape May was recognized as one of America’s top 10 beaches by the Travel Channel and its beach was ranked fifth in New Jersey in the 2008 Top 10 Beaches Contest sponsored by the New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium.
A small wine growing area is adjacent to Cape May, and tourists to Cape May visit the four local wineries: Hawk Haven Vineyard and Winery, Turdo Vineyards, Natali Vineyards and Cape May Winery.
Since its debut in 2012, the Exit Zero Jazz Festival has quickly become an attraction for world class musicians and music aficionados alike.
During the Festival weekend, Cape May transforms into a jazz village as fans and musicians make their pilgrimage to the little town by the sea to witness first-rate performances from award winning, critically acclaimed artists, exciting new artists on the scene, and local favorites.

The name Exit Zero refers to the town’s location at the far southern end of the Garden State Parkway near the intersection with Route 109. Informally, the entire town is sometimes called Exit Zero.
New Jersey Transit offers service to Philadelphia on the 313 and 315 routes and to Atlantic City on the 552 route, with seasonal service to Philadelphia on the 316 route and to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan on the 319 route. The city is served by rail via the Cape May City Rail Terminal
